What to do on a nice hot summerday! BUILD!!

Hi there... god... it was so hot today... so hot ... so whats the most naturel thing to do ??... thats right.. to build a bit on a Astromech! lol
Got the last front panel clued on today... and the all work!!

Got 3 panels install'd today... and it actully went pretty ok

Fever is gone...

Have ben sick the last week... and today i finely got rid of the fever... so whats a boy to do ?.. yup... BUILD BUILD BUILD!! lol
And I had great fun... and got some nice things done...
Had to move one of the frame bearing so the ocatagon port in the front section could be place without scraping on to it... instal'd the port + the front power coupler... looks really more and more droidalike.. well enough words u thinking... lets the pic show begin.

Now lets see if the skin fitts!!!

Of couse it fitts lol (phew) (i made the bearing with 3 screws... that way it can be placed back and forward up and down... so it will always sit 100% where the hole in the skin is.
And now for the front power coupler!
Made a small L alu drill 3 holes in it... thats it..

Back to building

Right before leaving for the Star Wars Exibition, i got a packedge from paul from the R2builders club..
In the packadge was my skin mounting blocks so now i could finely start on my skin mounting.
Didt take me long to mount the skins...


Only to discover that the lowest mounting block was sitting right in the edge of the side vents... what to do...what to do..
U move the mounting block so it sits under the middle frame ring, like this


And then a couple of hours R2-C4 starts looking like this!


I hate to say this... but i think it looks danm good with those colors...

Home from Sweden again

On june the 26 (my birthday) my Garrison travel'd to Sweden for the opening cermony of the Star Wars Exibition.
The cermony was on the 27 of june, and we stay'd up there for 3 days and did some heavy trooping and spreading some star wars life to the city of Ørviksjold.
I had hope that my new ESB Vader would have ben done for this... but sadly my new helmet broke right before we had to leave... so i had to use my ANH helmet.
I actully thinks that im proud to say, that im the only Vader in 501.st that have made it airborne in suit guard'd by 2 troopers and a royal gaurd... we had to fly from stockholm to that little town cald Ørviksjold where there Exibition was... the cool thing was that it was in the costume painted star wars plane!!

After we landed in the airport of Ørvik, we where escorted to the museum and in the back door so people didt notice us lol
After standing backstage for 1½ hours i was escorted by my troops and cut the thread so the exibition was open.

We even helped with filming a documentary about the exhibition

Museum inspector Daniel greet Vader... and tells him that the Exibition is ready for his inspection.

The very best thing on this trip was... my meeting with Mr.Don Bies himself... he toke his time to talk to me, and he even sign'd R2-C4's backpanel... what a great guy!!
